Rotating the chuck collar in a counterclockwise direction will loosen the tool. Steel is strong and durable but less corrosion resistant than stainless steel. To improve its resistance to corrosion, it may receive additional finishes and coatings. Tapered mount drill chucks have an internal Jacobs Taper (JT) that is press-fit onto a corresponding JT arbor (shank) or spindle.
